August 24, 2026 - Day 5

The FAD and brackets to hold the video camera have been built, camera attached and other senors have been connected.

At 7:00 AM the FAD UNIT is deployed with a surface marker that is slightly below the surface.

If there are a sufficient number of volunteers and the underwater robot is working, the efforts in the boat will be video recorded and the underwater robot will video the deployment and subsequent retrieval of the FAD UNIT.

At the end or the 12 hour recording period the FAD UNIT is retrieved at about 7:00 PM. The SD card is removed, a new SD card is inserted. The battery pack is changed, loaded back into the underwater housing and the underwater video light is turned on to the lowest setting. The FAD UNIT is then re-deployed for over night recording.
