August 17, 2026 - Day 1

The FAD and brackets to hold the video camera are built, camera attached and the robot is set up.

Then the FAD is deployed, video capture and inspected by Scuba divers and a secondary video is created by the underwater robot. The robot will only video the deployment on Day 1.

At the end of the 9 hour recording time, the robot will record while it attempts to release the Camera unit and allow it to float to the surface. Scuba divers will record the robot’s progress and release the Camera unit if the robot fails.

At the end or the 9 hour recording period the camera is retrieved, or sooner if the 9 hour period extends beyond sunset, in which case the camera will be retrieved at sunset. The SD card is removed, copied and a clean SD card is inserted. The battery is fully charged, loaded back into the underwater housing and attached to the camera, tested then sealed.
